Mr. Cheng Yonghua Joins Taihe Institute as Senior Fellow

 
On July 27, 2020, a ceremony was held to celebrate Mr. Cheng Yonghua’s appointment as a senior fellow of the Taihe Institute.
 
 
Mr. Cheng Yonghua, who holds Honorary Doctorates from J.F. Oberlin, Soka and Hiroshima Universities, is currently serving as executive vice president of the China-Japan Friendship Association. He is a former Chinese ambassador to Malaysia, South Korea, and Japan; and member of the 12th CPPCC National Committee. Mr. Cheng has been engaged in diplomatic work for more than 40 years and is China’s longest-serving ambassador to Japan to date. He has witnessed the development and twists and turns of China-Japan relations and has made outstanding contributions to enhancing friendship and cooperation between China and Japan.
 
Mr. Cheng Yonghua’s participation will further strengthen Taihe Institute’s research capacity in the field of international relations, especially in Northeast Asia.
